We are the Mechanical Maniacs, and we participate in the First Lego League ( FLL ) .  We are a Homeschool team from the South Lyon Michigan area.  We’re a group of friends who are devoted to Lego Robotics, and the educational opportunity and challenge of this competition.

The goal of our team is to provide an environment that enables our students to learn and apply the principles of match, science, teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. 

We are entering our 4th year of this competition.  Last year’s competition theme was alternative energy and we called our team “ The Electrolights”.   This year’s theme is about Climate Connections and we’ve decided to continue the name of The Electrolights.

Last year, the team achieved their dream and won top honors at the Michigan State Competition and we represented the State of Michigan at the FLL World Festival in Atlanta.
